6 km of hedges to clip
- If championships for hedge clipping were organized as those for tree sawing, there is no doubt that certain members of the Association would win the first places.
- The workload is such that hedges are clipped only once a year, starting at the beginning of July.
- In summer, one clips only the outer and higher sides of the hedges. The interior sides are clipped after the fall of the leaves (it makes the job easier).
- The higher parts of the hedges are cut as on the photograph with the system developed by Baudry Bonaert de Laubespin.
- The inner hedges have been lowered to 1m80. Hence, no scaffold is required to work on them. To let the inner hedges grow up to 3m80 (the height of the external hedges) would double the maintenance costs.
