Moving the orange trees cases: 1500 kg
- The moving (in and out) of the orange trees were carried out according to various techniques in the course of time.
- Until 1948, the trees were moved on a heavy wood carriage where the tubs were rolled on wood balls as the former Egyptians did to move the stones on the pyramids.
- Then came a much lighter steel carriage. Here, the case was tilted to rest only on two feet while the carriage was swivelled to bring it under the tub.
- Finally a tractor equipped with forks plays now the role of a pallet truck.
- Photographs of these operations in the course of time are exposed in an orangery.
