Castle and Gardens of Freÿr / Meuse (Belgium)
The oldest scaffold still in use
-
Lucien Culot , the last chief-gardener at Freÿr drew this carriage of steel tubes after 1945.
-
It is at the same time very stable thanks to its trapezoid shape
and considerably lighter than the heavy wood carriages that it has replaced.
-
More than 50 years later, this carriage is always there. Rust has hardly attacked it.
-
Wheels of wheelbarrows have replaced the original cast iron.
