A vineyard in a greenhouse
- The valley of the Meuse had excellent vineyards with sweet wines thanks to the local microclimate and limestone acting like a heat absorbing black body.
- These vineyards were tore down by Napoleon, who wished to protect those of France.
- One finds traces of vineyards at the "Plante", a place near Namur the name of which points out its original wine function.
- In the same way the Meuse slopes around Dinant are covered with terraces. One also finds slopes in Freÿr in the currently wooded area of Charlemont.
- The gardens had also vineyards in two places: Between Two Walls and the greenhouse where a vine has survived for 2 centuries.
