- 1737: The orange trees of the castle of Lunéville are bought from François of Lorraine, husband of Maria-Theresia of Austria.
- 1748: Charles-Albert of Beaufort-Spontin, faithful to the Habsburg, refuses to yield his sovereign rights on Château-Thierry to Louis XV in exchange for a Duchy-Peerage in France.
- 1772: The treaty of the borders between France and the Principality of Liége is negotiated in Freÿr before being signed in Versailles.

Maria-Christina, eldest sister of the Emperor Joseph II and Governor of the Netherlands,
remains in Freÿr;
- A ball is given in her honor in the illuminated gardens.
- She discovers the house, the gardens and the Fréderic-Salle such as drawn and enlarged by William and Philip of Beaufort-Spontin between 1760 and 1775.
