Hermenegilde de Beaufort-Spontin
and her short-legged husband
- Hermenegilde (Gilda), daughter of Frederic of Beaufort-Spontin and Ernestine von Stahremberg, married Camille of Laubespin. They took over Freÿr. She was large; he was a dwarf .
- As he did not manage to put its arm on the tops of mantelpieces, he shortened them to one meter height in his sleeping-room and the library. So, he could put his cup more easily there!
- Some (arm)chairs underwent an identical fate: their feet were cut. What made his wife say: "Camille, you are unworthy to live in such a residence".
- Their sons, Théodule, who was large, raised up the marble mantelpiece of the library on 30 cm height stones.
- He left the mantelpiece in the room of his father to its "dwarf" size.
