At the gunfire sound (letters)
-
Ninne was the eldest child of Camille de Laubespin and Gilda of Beaufort-Spontin.
-
At 18 years, she met at the baths of Ostend, Wladimir von Daun,
General of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and older by 25 years.
She became his "small wife" and moved to Vienna and Wottau (Bîtov).
-
Daun was sent to Italy during the wars of independence.
Ninne followed her husband to the gunfire sound.
She left letters (alas untraceable) where she reports her husband campaign.
-
One finds there:
-
When meeting troops of her husband, her Austrian coachman spoke,
-
with troops of Cavour and Garibaldi, her Italian lady's companion dialogued,
-
and with those of Napoleon III, Ninne herself went up to the crenels.
